Anselm Vermeulen was born in The Netherlands, is married with two kids and has been living in Phnom Penh since the summer of 2022.

Following his studies, he worked in Hong Kong for seven years, setting up and running his Chemical Distribution Company, mainly doing business with China and South America. After having moved back to The Netherlands he continued his business and gradually got more and more involved in teaching Supply Chain Management and Logistics at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.

In 2009 the family moved to Shanghai, where he took up the post of Foreign Faculty Coordinator at CIP of Donghua University, and continued to teach these and other related subjects. During semester breaks he would lecture throughout SouthEast Asia and Africa as well.

Currently he lectures Management Accounting 1 at CamEd in Phnom Penh. He considers helping and coaching students with their first steps in setting up sustainable businesses a very rewarding experience.

His research for his Doctoral Dissertation was about Entrepreneurship at State-Owned Enterprises in China. He is the recipient of the Magnolia Silver Award in Shanghai, China in 2017.
