EIDTORIAL PROCESS

JAFESS is committed to a rigorous and timely editorial and publication process, facilitated by its dedicated team of experts and guided by a transparent peer review rubric.

PEER REVIEW

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process conducted by at least two experts in the relevant field. Following successful peer review, the manuscripts then undergo an editorial review process before publication. These rigorous review processes ensure all accepted manuscripts meet all the requirements for publication for the journal to maintain the highest standards of scholarship.

PLAGIARISM

The editors routinely screen all submitted manuscripts for plagiarism, starting from the submission stage to the peer review and editorial review stages. Manuscripts with clear evidence of plagiarism will not be accepted for publication by the journal.

Commitment to DORA

February 15, 2025

CamEd Business School and the Journal of Accounting, Finance, Economics, and Social Sciences (JAFESS) are deeply dedicated to the ongoing implementation of DORA principles and fostering a culture of responsible research assessment. We recognize that this is an evolving process, and we are committed to continuous improvement in our practices. We welcome dialogue and collaboration with the DORA community and other institutions working towards shared goals.

At JAFESS, we firmly believe that research should be evaluated based on its intrinsic quality, impact, and significance, rather than relying solely on journal-based publication metrics such as the Journal Impact Factor. We are committed to fostering a culture that values diverse research outputs and contributions across all scholarly roles.
To this end, we are actively implementing DORA principles within our operations:

  • We are revising our research peer review rubric to align with DORA principles, prioritizing transparency and fair assessment of research quality and significance.
  • We commit to ceasing the promotion of journal impact factors as a primary measure of research quality.
  • We are exploring ways to provide article-level metrics and indicators to offer a more nuanced view of research impact.
  • We encourage authors to use unique identifiers like ORCIDs in their submissions to ensure accurate attribution and discoverability.
  • We are working to ensure that all reference data deposited with Crossref is open and discoverable, contributing to transparent scholarly infrastructure.
  • We are examining strategies to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout our publishing processes.

We are dedicated to continuously reviewing and enhancing our research assessment practices to uphold these principles.
