CamEd Public Speaking and Debate Club

CamEd Public Speaking Debate Club was established on the 5th February 2019 under the participative assistance of Mr. Eddie Anderson, an English lecturer at CamEd Business School.

Mission

CamEd Public Speaking and Debate Club aims to provide intensive and interactive training courses as well as to put into practice what you learned in theory in order to improve your abilities to speak confidently and think critically.

Vision

CamEd Public Speaking and Debate Club aims to promote confidence, commitment, and teamwork from our members in an English-speaking environment so that they could become future-ready and confident individuals for future challenges.

EVENTS

CPSDC Endless Love Project

On 8 March 2024, we were happy to support our community partners Kep Children and IWA Kep with funds raised from the CPSDC Endless Love Project and clothes sponsorship from Zando Cambodia. As we end the fifth generation of CamEd Public Speaking and Debate Club, our members celebrated and bonded over our long year together; the last time in a while.

CamEd President’s Debate and Presentation Competition

The CamEd President’s Debate and Presentation Competition is a highly anticipated event at CamEd Business School, highlighting the exceptional public speaking and presentation talents of our students. This prestigious competition provides a platform for students to demonstrate their communication skills, critical thinking, and knowledge on various topics. Participants engage in spirited debates and deliver compelling presentations, competing for recognition and prizes while honing their abilities in effective communication and persuasive argumentation.

Debate Training

On 18th September 2023, CamEd Public Speaking and Debate Club successfully wrapped up their training series on essential skills such as “The Art of Persuasion”, “Confidence Building”, “The Art of Debate”, “Effective Public Speaking and Presentation”, and “The Art of Logic and Reasoning”. Club members and students have been honing their communication and critical thinking abilities. CPSDC Training Session

On 2nd and 3rd September 2023, we had the honor of Professor Marie, Former Champions and the Trainee’s Showcase. Participants gained insightful knowledge on how to add substance to their speeches and the skills needed to win their audience over. Our trainees engaged in a mock presentation and debate, where they received invaluable feedback from the professor and other experienced debaters, as well as former champions.

Professor Pat Michael Beck II is a distinguished scholar with an MSc from the London School of Economics and an MA from Sciences Po, Paris. As our club’s public speaking advisor, his expertise and passion for effective communication make him an invaluable mentor, blending his deep understanding of political and economic systems with his dedication to fostering public speaking and debating skills.
